Chortle's national student comedy awards
Chortle runs an annual hunt to find the best student comedian in Britain, with entries accepted in the autumn term, heats across the country in the spring and a final after easter.
The competition is an ideal launchpad for new comics, offering a valuable prize package that helps get a foot on the stand-up ladder.
Previous winners have been:
2004: Lloyd Langford
2005: Nathan Caton
2006: Donnchah O’Connail
Caton, pictured, said: ‘Winning the competition was a great achievement. It opened a few doors for me, I was getting more recognition from comedy clubs and got a few TV people interested, not to mention the whole experience was amazing.’
